I’m grateful to be able to wrap up a project and send it off (I couldn’t help but jazz up the sad, ugly yellow envelope that I was sending the final painting in). I’m grateful that one of my paintings will bring joy to a household. A lot of you are familiar with my photography work, but did you know that I actually earned my BFA by majoring in illustration?
I was hired by an old college chum of mine to create a portrait for her mother. She sent me one of her favorite photographs of her mother as a young woman and asked me to paint her wearing a crown of daises. I’m very happy with how it turned out and I can’t wait to hear what her mother thinks of it!
