After such a successful “Noon” Year, I decided I absolutely had to take Cory to Mother’s Bistro. This shot features the homemade sorbet that the chef gave to Cory and me. Read more about our lovely brunch here.
It was my first day back at school after a year long hiatus. It’s going to be a lot of work, but it will be wonderful to have my master’s that I have already put so much heart and soul into earning. It was especially tough going to school on this particular day because Cory and I just got a new blanket and duvet cover for our bed. I didn’t want to leave it!
After the awful rainy weather the day before, there was a truly beautiful sunset out our living room window. I love how all the tree branches look like a spider’s web. Oh, and can you spot the kitty on the pathway?
Is there anything better than homemade soup? Did I mention there is cheese and bacon in it? Yeah. Exactly.
Coffee is a rare treat for Cory and I, so I savored this chia tea latte Cory surprised me with.
Just so happens to be Friday the 13th. I’m not a superstitious person in the least and actually didn’t even realize that it was Friday the 13th until the very end of the day. Cory and I went to Pro Photo Supply and picked up some Impossible film. I had never tried their silver shade before and now I am totally addicted to it. I think Cory and I are going to go back this week and pick up some more. This is a photograph of the infamous Mary statue on Burnside that I took on the way back home.
I’m trying to journal more. It’s part of my “remembering and savoring my year” mantra. I have quite the collection of half used/new sketchbooks and journals. Cory got me this lovely Nikki McClure journal last year. It’s organized by season and features some of her beautiful paper cuts. I’m excited to finally be filling it up.

so nice seeing snippets of your life through your 365. (good luck on it, btw! it’s so challenging so i really admire it when people can stick with it (i tried and failed).)
Haha, thanks Jacqueline! I’m going to do my best to keep up with it. Really been having fun with it so far, but I’m sure I’ll have a moment or two where I’ll just want to say “to heck with it!”
I agree with Jackie- it takes so much work to keep up a 365-project and I admire people who can do it
I adore the image of your bed/duvet cover and window. And yes, I spotted that little kitty – so cute!
I know I’m going to have days where I want to throw in the towel, but I try to just remember how happy I’ll be that I’ll have this year of my life documented at the end of the year. I have a bit of an obsession with our picture window in our bedroom and love taking pictures of the changing seasons out of it. And that cat has almost gotten run over by bicycles so many times on that path, haha! She refuses to stay anywhere else.
