Sharing one of my favorite things to do on this week’s 52: Sitting quietly in a coffee shop, people watching and gazing out at the weather. We don’t have enough still moments in life, you know?
And now, my week in photographs:
Sunday (March 11th): A little lipstick.
Monday (March 12th): I’m trying to battle these gloomy, rainy days with some pops of color. Come on Spring!! Lipstick: Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Punch Drunk. Nail polish: Essie in Navigate Her.
Tuesday (March 13th): Was woken up to the sound of laughter and chainsaws at 8am. Workers were cutting down one of our gorgeous trees. I couldn’t believe it (I’m still angry about it). A perfectly healthy, beautiful tree chopped down for no apparent reason. Oh, and PS: I’m writing this on Monday and the tree is still laying in the spot it was cut down. I’m so over this apartment complex.
Wednesday (March 14th): Happy Pi Day!
Thursday (March 15th): A little peek at Coffeehouse Northwest in Portland. I really need to do a full post on it soon! It seems to always be crowded so Cory and I are usually forced to get the coffee to go. I need to figure out what time there is a lull in the day there.
Friday (March 16th): “Burn Like Hell” – The Impossible Project
Saturday (March 17th): Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Cory and I made chocolate toffee brownies with cream cheese irish cream frosting. We brought them to a party that evening and they were a hit. I also painted this picture for an art competition. It was an all green St. Patrick’s Day theme. His name is Lucky. Guess what… I won!! Thanks to everyone who helped me make it happen by “liking” him on Facebook.

Congratulations on winning the art contest, Jade! I have to say (and I may have said this on your blog before) but I really love this digest of your week! I wish my last 365 had been arranged this way! It’s so fun to read and in the end you have a great little diary of your year.
Thanks Sara! It was pretty awesome. I saw it about an hour before the deadline so I grabbed my paints and for some reason, Lucky appeared, haha! Can’t wait to see what art supplies they end up sending me!
And, thank you so much! That is exactly the reason I started it: so I could actually remember all the big and small things that happend to us over the year. I also knew that the only way I would be able to be consistent and stick with it would be if I only had to post once a week instead of every single day. It’s been fun making the collages and then writing a little diary about them!
congrats on the contest!
and zomg… is this the bailey’s cream cheese??? such a brilliant idea! i’ve never thought of it before (for shame!).
Thank you! It was pretty awesome to have won. And, YES, that’s the cream cheese. It’s freaking delicious. I want to eat it every single day! I used this recipe off of Epicurious, but cut the recipe in half because I didn’t want a mountain of frosting on the brownies!
