I woke up this morning to the loveliest, most thoughtful card and a box of artisan truffles. 5 years ago today Cory asked me to be his girlfriend. We have been inseparable ever since. Within those 5 years we became best friends and husband and wife. I cannot wait to see where this lifetime together takes us.
I wanted to make an extra special treat for my sweet husband to celebrate and finally settled on this rich cake from Robin of A Chow Life (using gluten free ingredients, of course). Cory has already requested that I make this cake for him again for his next birthday. Tonight we are going to keep things low key by seeing a movie at the theater we had our first date as boyfriend and girlfriend at, picking up a scoop or two of ice cream and popping some champagne.
I love you Cory. Thank you for all the memories you have made with me. I can’t wait to make a million more. I wouldn’t want to share this life with anyone else.
*Special thanks to Kim Miller for our beautiful engagement photographs and A.J. Meeker for our lovely wedding photographs.

Congratulations you two! You’re so adorable, I love the old photos… especially the one where you dressed up like each other!
Question Jade, for the Peanut Butter Torte, did you make it using dairy like the recipe? Or did you substitute anything? I wanna try this!
Hi Julie! Thank you so much! When it comes to the peanut butter torte, I did use dairy, but I think it could still work using tofutti. I also cut down on the amount of sugar in the recipe: it just seemed fairly unnecessary with all the chocolate and such already being used. I also used gluten free cookies for my base and even though it said not to use natural peanut butter, I still did and it turned out beautifully!
You guys are so frickin’ cute. I’m so happy to have been able to lend a hand in documenting your neverending love story. I can’t wait for us all to hang out again soon in the future and make more fun and awesome images together. You guys rule and deserve all the happiness in the world. Yay for love!
Aww, thanks Kim! You are so incredible and I feel so blessed to have images of Cory and I captured by you. Like, for reals, we are in need of a polaroid/ice cream date!!!
Happy 5th anniversary!

Aw, thank you so much Genevieve! We have a slight obsession with photo booths and have gotten lots of practice, haha!
What a fun post. It’s always so interesting to look back and see how far you’ve come through the years. Both of you look fabulous! And though I don’t know you personally, it appears you two are the perfect fit. I hope it was a wonderful evening of celebration!
What a gorgeous post! Also, I quite seriously covet your hair.
