Cory and I had such a lovely time at Ken’s, I couldn’t help but share a few photographs of our evening there last Saturday. It was incredibly busy so I didn’t get the chance to get up and take any shots of the environment. I guess that just means that the mister and I need to make a trip back very, very soon. I’m almost imaginary in this week’s 52. Ever since the Impossible Project sent me that expired film, I’ve been having a wonderful time taking shots of things I might have otherwise overlooked. And now, my week in polaroids… Sunday (September 9th): Wild mushrooms on a morning walk to the library. Monday (September 10th): My favorite Portland bridge. Tuesday (September 11th): The incredibly lovely, talented and hilarious Kim Miller had me as her second shooter for an intimate wedding ceremony at Opal Creek. I can’t wait to go hiking there again. The falls were gorgeous. Wednesday (September 12th): If I could have I would have taken all these nectarines home. Thursday (September 13th): Can you spot Cory? Taken in the woods right by our local library. Friday…
On labor day, we visited Cory’s family. His grandma lives on an 88 acre farm out in the middle of nowhere. You would never know it was there unless someone purposely took you there. You travel along winding, gravel and dirt roads where you eventually come to a clearing with a farm. It was such a lovely day out so we took advantage of it and went on a photowalk before dinner. We had a little friend by the name of Boots follow us along. It made me long for a kitten that much more! Cory’s brother Casy dug us up some potatoes and garlic from the garden. They wanted to send us home with some cabbage too, but as you will see in the photos…
No, no, no. When I say beaver bbq I’m not saying I went to a bbq where they served beaver. The Beaver BBQ is an annual BBQ hosted by the Johnson family at their farm as a tribute to their love of the Oregon State Beavers. Whitney and Dave invited Cory and I. It was such a pleasure to finally meet these two face to face after admiring/internet stalking them for the past few years. They are such a sweet couple and I’m so happy for them: they are recently engaged, don’t you know!? I also got to meet so many lovely, talented photographers and bloggers: Nicolle (and her lovely son), Debbie and Vanessa to name a few. I didn’t feel like being too…

I woke up this morning to the loveliest, most thoughtful card and a box of artisan truffles. 5 years ago today Cory asked me to be his girlfriend. We have been inseparable ever since. Within those 5 years we became best friends and husband and wife. I cannot wait to see where this lifetime together takes us. I wanted to make an extra special treat for my sweet husband to celebrate and finally settled on this rich cake from Robin of A Chow Life (using gluten free ingredients, of course). Cory has already requested that I make this cake for him again for his next birthday. Tonight we are going to keep things low key by seeing a movie at the theater we had our first date as boyfriend…

Since I took a break from blogging last week, I have two weeks worth of photographs to share for my 365 project. I decided to just combine them in one, big, beautiful post! Image overload, I know, but hang in there with me! Lets start with Week 21: For this week’s 52, I’m a bride! I truly felt beautiful that day. And now, week 21 in photographs… Sunday (May 20th): Three of my dearest friends threw me a little bachelorette brunch. We exchanged gifts, stuffed ourselves silly with carbs and sugar and watched Dirty Dancing. I sure do love those ladies. Monday (May 21st): The succulents for our wedding arrived from California! We ordered them through Succulents Galore. I highly recommend them. Tuesday (May 22nd):…
Hello everyone! Long time no blog, I know! I decided to take last week off and just enjoy being wife to my new husband! That doesn’t mean I don’t have scads of photographs to share with you. Saturday, May 26th was truly one of the happiest days of my life. I kept my camera at home and allowed our photographer to just do what he does best. While we are waiting for the film to be processed, here are a few instagrams, polaroids, and instax images from our special day. The night before the wedding, Cory and I had a little late night crafting party! Cory made the boutonnieres, I made my floral crown (I only burnt myself once with the hot glue gun!) and we…
Photos courtesy of our wedding photographer, A.J. Meeker After five years together, tomorrow morning I get to marry my best friend. Honestly, I didn’t know if I would ever get married and I was perfectly fine with that. But now, with Cory in my life, I know I want to be a wife and a mother. Dreams change when you meet that special someone. In a lot of ways, I feel like Cory saved my life: he taught me how to love myself again. He taught me that my life is worth fighting for. He taught me to believe in myself. Without Cory, I would have never discovered my love of photography and this blog wouldn’t even exist. We have come so far in these…

A have a series of extra special Saturdays coming up. It actually all started this past Saturday. I got to go see a special show with my sweetheart. Next Saturday I get to dress in cap, gown and academic hood and receive my Master’s of Art in Education. And then the Saturday after that I get to marry the love of my life. It’s all pretty surreal. Between finishing up school, preparing to move and planning a wedding, I haven’t had as much time as I would like to go out and take photographs. But, last Saturday I made a point of taking my camera(s) with me to capture some special time spent with Cory. It was an especially gorgeous day. I mentioned in my last post how…

All about bold colors for this week’s 52. And now, my week in photographs… Sunday (March 25th): Spent the morning with Ponny Kosmas, aka Mars Water. Read the interview and see more photographs here. Monday (March 26th): Sieze the day! Hello! Tuesday (March 27th): Crazy beautiful sunset. Wednesday (March 28th): My handsome man. Look at that ultra sultry smile, yowza! Thursday (March 29th): Raindrops on my bedroom window… story of my life… and basically every other Oregonian. Friday (March 30th): The Sign. I need to remember to take a photo of it next Christmas! They always light up the deer’s nose. I’m so glad the city kept it. Saturday (March 31st): Cory and I very rarely have fast food. Like, 3 times a year maybe. We decided to indulge in some…
I’m bundled up for this week’s 52. It was kind of a dreary week with lots of rain and howling wind which resulted in postponing lots of plans. I think the weather really but a damper on my creativity as well. It was one of those weeks where every photograph I took, every line that I drew, every pattern that I painted just didn’t seem quite right. Sunday (Feb. 26): I was a bride on Sunday. Read all about it here. Monday (Feb. 27): I will miss looking out my window at this beautiful view. Tuesday (Feb. 28): I got to go see “Iron Lady” with one of my best friends and came home to a house full of delicious groceries which resulted in a…
