I’m at Stumptown Coffee Roasters for this week’s 52. I get my haircut at Prima Salon (by the incredible Candice White) which is only a few blocks away from the Ace Hotel. After my haircut, Its become a bit of a tradition for Cory and I to go to the Ace and take photos in the photo booth and grab a cup of coffee at Stumptown in the lobby. I woke up this morning to the loveliest, most thoughtful card and a box of artisan truffles. 5 years ago today Cory asked me to be his girlfriend. We have been inseparable ever since. Within those 5 years we became best friends and husband and wife. I cannot wait to see where this lifetime together takes us. I wanted to make an extra special treat for my sweet husband to celebrate and finally settled on this rich cake from Robin of A Chow Life (using gluten free ingredients, of course). Cory has already requested that I make this cake for him again for his next birthday. Tonight we are going to keep things low key by seeing a movie at the theater we had our first date as boyfriend…
