Week 43 {Project 365}

Posted on 30 Oct ’12

Enjoying the park blocks in this week’s 52. I think that this is the last week I’ll be able to get away with wearing a sweater instead of a heavy coat. It’s getting soooo cold! And now, my week in photographs… Sunday (October 21st): A clear evening downtown. Monday (October 22nd): Once again, rain ruined our plans, so we decided to drown our sorrows in copious amounts of Indian food. Tuesday (October 23rd): How is it that raindrops make things even more beautiful? Wednesday (October 24th): A trip to the market wouldn’t be complete without an instagram or two. Follow me (@jade_melissa) and Cory (@cory_burnsed). Thursday (October 25th): I made gluten free pumpkin cinnamon rolls. Sometimes baking is the only thing that can make me happy…

Week 38 {Project 365}

Posted on 25 Sep ’12

I’m lounging by the pool in this week’s 52 trying to soak up the last bit of Summer. The transition from Summer to Fall is always strange for me. I think I just get anxious about preparing the home for winter and getting ready for the rush of holidays. And now, my week in instagrams (via @jade_melissa & @cory_burnsed)… Sunday (September 16th): Plans got changed, so Cory and I decided to spend some time by the pool. Monday (September 17th): An unbelievable sunset. Tuesday (September 18th): Met Kim for ice cream at our beloved Salt & Straw. We ended up getting the exact same flavors: almond brittle with salted ganache and amber malted plum. Wednesday (September 19th): Cory brought home a little pick me up. Thursday…

All You Need is Love

Posted on 2 Jul ’12

We are gathered here in the presence of this company to join Cory and Jade in marriage. Nothing worthwhile in life is sudden.  We wait for birth.  We wait for life to reveal its meaning, year by year, experience by experience.  Waiting is the law of life, the measure of love. When two individuals meet, so do two private worlds.  None of our private worlds is big enough for us to live a wholesome life in.  We need the wide world of joy and wonder, of purpose and venture, of toil and tears.  What are we, any of us, but strangers and sojourners forlornly wandering through the night until we draw together and find the meaning of our lives in one another, dissolving our fears in…

Weeks 21 & 22 {Project 365}

Posted on 5 Jun ’12

Since I took a break from blogging last week, I have two weeks worth of photographs to share for my 365 project. I decided to just combine them in one, big, beautiful post! Image overload, I know, but hang in there with me! Lets start with Week 21: For this week’s 52, I’m a bride! I truly felt beautiful that day. And now, week 21 in photographs… Sunday (May 20th): Three of my dearest friends threw me a little bachelorette brunch. We exchanged gifts, stuffed ourselves silly with carbs and sugar and watched Dirty Dancing. I sure do love those ladies. Monday (May 21st): The succulents for our wedding arrived from California! We ordered them through Succulents Galore. I highly recommend them. Tuesday (May 22nd):…

Week 8 {Project 365}

Posted on 28 Feb ’12

For this week’s 52, I got all dolled up for date night with Cory: dinner and a Broadway show. I figured a red lip was required. And now, my incredibly busy week in pictures… Sunday (Feb. 19): For Christmas Cory got me tickets to go see Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast at the Keller Auditorium! Sunday was finally the day so we got all dolled up, went out to dinner and then to the show. For those of you who don’t know, I have a problem. I love musical theater. My freshman year of high school my dad took me to see the Phantom of the Opera and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ve seen Phantom of the Opera, Lion King, Avenue Q, Mary Poppins, 42nd…

Valentine’s Day

Posted on 16 Feb ’12

I love holidays. I celebrate as many as I can. I know a lot of people *hate* Valentine’s day, but I’ve always loved it. In my single college days, I used to bring homemade cupcakes into class for everyone. I believe Valentine’s day is an excuse to tell people you love them by doing something special and making a memory. How can a holiday like that be wrong? I really like what my friend Beckie had to say about it on my post yesterday. She said,”When Valentine’s Day is about generic gifts that are demanded/expected, they really don’t mean anything at all and I can see how that turns people off of the day. But Valentine’s Day can be so much more! Celebrating friends, family,…

30 Days of Gratitude {Day 7}

Posted on 7 Nov ’11

I’m grateful that I get the opportunity to document the love that two people have for one other. I’m grateful that after a week of nasty rain and biting cold wind, the skies cleared and sun came out of hiding so we could have a lovely engagement session. I’m grateful to have Kirsten and Trevor as my friends.

We’re Engaged!

Posted on 30 Aug ’11

The Story in Pictures: The WHOLE Story {Written by Cory}: Two days after Christmas last year, I was let go from my job (along with 600 other employees that were a part of the company). A few weeks prior to that, a feeling started to arise in my soul that it was time for me to begin planning for my engagement to the woman who had stolen my heart years before; Jade. Being let go from that soul sucking endless pit of a job was the best thing to happen to me to kick start my journey. I was able to get on unemployment, start going to the gym again, get back into school and spend more quality time with Jade while looking for…
