Week 43 {Project 365}

Enjoying the park blocks in this week’s 52. I think that this is the last week I’ll be able to get away with wearing a sweater instead of a heavy coat. It’s getting soooo cold! And now, my week in photographs… Sunday (October 21st): A clear evening downtown. Monday (October 22nd): Once again, rain ruined our plans, so we decided to drown our sorrows in copious amounts of Indian food. 5 Years

I woke up this morning to the loveliest, most thoughtful card and a box of artisan truffles. 5 years ago today Cory asked me to be his girlfriend. We have been inseparable ever since. Within those 5 years we became best friends and husband and wife. I cannot wait to see where this lifetime together takes us. I wanted to make an extra special treat for my sweet husband to celebrate and finally settled on this rich cake from Robin of A Chow Life (using gluten free ingredients, of course). Cory has already requested that I make this cake for him again for his next birthday. Tonight we are going to keep things low key by seeing a movie at the theater we had our first date as boyfriend…

Weeks 21 & 22 {Project 365}

Since I took a break from blogging last week, I have two weeks worth of photographs to share for my 365 project. I decided to just combine them in one, big, beautiful post! I’m Getting Married in the Morning

Honestly, I didn’t know if I would ever get married and I was perfectly fine with that. But now, with Cory in my life, I know I want to be a wife and a mother. Dreams change when you meet that special someone. In a lot of ways, I feel like Cory saved my life: he taught me how to love myself again. He taught me that my life is worth fighting for. Valentine’s Day

I love holidays. I celebrate as many as I can. I know a lot of people *hate* Valentine’s day, but I’ve always loved it. In my single college days, I used to bring homemade cupcakes into class for everyone. I believe Valentine’s day is an excuse to tell people you love them by doing something special and making a memory. How can a holiday like that be wrong? I’m grateful that I get the opportunity to document the love that two people have for one other. I’m grateful that after a week of nasty rain and biting cold wind, the skies cleared and sun came out of hiding so we could have a lovely engagement session. The Story in Pictures: The WHOLE Story {Written by Cory}: Two days after Christmas last year, I was let go from my job (along with 600 other employees that were a part of the company). A few weeks prior to that, a feeling started to arise in my soul that it was time for me to begin planning for my engagement to the woman who had stolen my heart years before; Jade.
