Posted on 27 Dec ’12

Surrounded by glittering gold in this week’s 52. And now, my week in photographs… Sunday (December 16th): Sipping cocoa and reading fashion magazines surrounded by the glow of holiday lights. Monday (December 17th): December Birchbox! more soon. Tuesday (December 18th): And the holiday baking begins! Wednesday (December 19th): Christmas at Pittock Mansion. Thursday (December 20th): I am so thrilled to share that my polaroid was selected to be part of the Impossible Project’s “Make Your Mark” exhibit. It will be on display in New York and then travel to Vienna! Friday (December 21st): I’m in love with how these candy cane macarons turned out. Saturday (December 22nd): Our annual white elephant Christmas party was hosted by my friend Melanie this year. Of course we were all completely distracted…

Happy Christmas

Posted on 24 Dec ’12

In lieu of the regular 365 post today, I just wanted to take a moment and wish you all a safe and enchanting holiday. And since I couldn’t afford to send everyone out there a card, I figured I would share it here. I had so much fun putting it together. And now, to get you in the holiday spirit, check out these photographs I took a few days ago at Pittock Mansion, which is all decked out for Christmas! Each room was decorated in regards to a traditional Christmas song. I kept asking the employees if I could live at the mansion but they just laughed at me as if I wasn’t being serious…

A Trip To Portland’s Pittock Mansion {Part III}

Posted on 3 Jul ’12

We toured the first floor, the second floor and the basement of the mansion, now lets take a look at the outside of the mansion and the wonderful grounds that surround it. I was completely taken aback by all the lovely flowers. We even found a bird’s nest in a bush by the gardener’s cottage (which I would totally live in by the way). Oh, and did I mention the striking views of the city? Magical. Just magical. I can’t wait to pack a picnic and visit again. Twitter / Facebook / Instagram / Pinterest / Illustration / Etsy

A Trip To Portland’s Pittock Mansion {Part II}

Posted on 13 Jun ’12

Last week on the blog, we toured the first floor of the Pittock Mansion. Now, let’s walk up the grand stairwell and tour the second! I wish they sold replicas of these candelabras in the gift shop… After walking up the grand stairwell, we were greeted by some gorgeous portraits of the Mr. & Mrs. The first room we came across was the children’s room. A puppet theater and a sausage grinder!? Amazing! Then came a chic bedroom with a beautiful blue fireplace and ultra feminine bed. I was so in love with the floral blanket and canopy and ruby red curtain. There was also a serene sleeping porch attached to the room. I think I have no choice but to claim this room as my own. And the…

A Trip to Portland’s Pittock Mansion {Part I}

Posted on 7 Jun ’12

Cory and I have both lived in Oregon our entire lives, no more than a 15 minute drive from Portland, and yet neither of us had ever been to Pittock Mansion. The mansion, which soars 1,000 feet above the city’s skyline, was built in 1914 by Henry and Georgiana Pittock. Henry was founder of The Oregonian and both he and Georgiana were key in organizing the Rose Festival. With a love of architecture and antiques, Cory and I finally decided to go during our staycation (especially when we found out our local library has a pass that allows two people to visit for free). I thought we would spend an hour or so there admiring the vintage furniture, immaculately kept grounds and outstanding views of the city but…

Weeks 21 & 22 {Project 365}

Posted on 5 Jun ’12

Since I took a break from blogging last week, I have two weeks worth of photographs to share for my 365 project. I decided to just combine them in one, big, beautiful post! Image overload, I know, but hang in there with me! Lets start with Week 21: For this week’s 52, I’m a bride! I truly felt beautiful that day. And now, week 21 in photographs… Sunday (May 20th): Three of my dearest friends threw me a little bachelorette brunch. We exchanged gifts, stuffed ourselves silly with carbs and sugar and watched Dirty Dancing. I sure do love those ladies. Monday (May 21st): The succulents for our wedding arrived from California! We ordered them through Succulents Galore. I highly recommend them. Tuesday (May 22nd):…
