I’m grateful that instead of getting up at 4am and standing in line for Black Friday, we had a Muppet Friday instead. Cory and I went and saw the new “Muppet Movie” this morning and then later this evening, after dinner, we snuggled up in bed and watched “The Muppet Christmas Carol.” I’m grateful that the world that Jim Henson created is still thriving.
I’m grateful for the chill in the air that gives me a reason to bundle up in my favorite long, comfy scarf. I’m grateful to have stumbled across a few stubborn trees in the city who are still clinging to their colorful leaves.
I’m grateful for lazy Sundays. I’m grateful to have breakfast in bed with my sweetheart and show him “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” for the first time. I’m grateful for knee socks and warm blankets. I’m grateful to have heard today from my dear friend that she got engaged last night.
I’m grateful that I get to wake up every morning next to him. I’m grateful that we finally get to call the same place home. I’m grateful that we get to sleep in together today because we haven’t had a day together, just the two of us, in far too long.

I’m grateful for the rain. I’ve lived in Oregon my entire life, which is obviously part of the reason I find rain so calming and comforting. A lot of people who live here complain endlessly about it, but I absolutely love it. I love the way it sounds as it hits the roof and windows. I love the way it makes everything smell so crisp and clean. I love the way it makes an old view look brand new.
I’m grateful that even after four and a half years together, he still texts me that he misses me.

I’m grateful for my baby brother. Yes, he just turned 21and in not too long will be graduating from college, but he will always be my baby brother.
